South WetlandsReport
English:South Wetlands · Locations
Swamp. No man's land. Main settlements: Slave Markets, Swamp Ninja Base.
One big lake, two ninja outfits that draw on sight, and a slave market that neither farms nor mines — the only industry here is sorting people, pricing them, and shipping them south. The Blood Spiders in the water will swim after you.

Notable units
| Name | Type | Where | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slave Market Master | Hostile boss | Slave Markets (noble house) | A Traders Guild noble guarded by 4 Empire noble guards and 4 Samurai Heavies; kill him or haul him off and the whole Slave Markets go to ruin. |
| Shade | Hostile boss | Swamp Ninja Base | Leader of the Swamp Ninjas, wielding a guardless katana in Standard grade armour; while she lives the zone spawns ninja patrols led by Jonin. |
| Red Sabre Boss | Hostile boss | The source of the Red Sabre patrols here (his own base, the Red Sabre Hideout, lies in the neighbouring Swamp) | The wanted poster calls him the Red Bandit; he carries a Meitou horse chopper. While he lives the zone spawns Water Clan squads of 7–11, after his death only 2–6. |
| Headshot | Recruitable | Slave Markets, slaver bar | A Shek slave hunter with 55 Turrets and 50 Crossbows, one of the best early ranged recruits in the game. |
| Ray | Recruitable | Slave Markets bar (bought from the Bar fly) | A mute Hive Soldier Drone whose tongue was cut out; buying him costs −5 Slave Traders relations, and killing the Bar fly first makes him permanently unrecruitable. |
| Bar fly | Merchant | Slave Markets bar | Ray's owner, an Empire Peasant; recruiting Ray means trading with her first, so do not swing at her. |
| Garret | Neutral | Slave Markets bar | A unique slave trader drinking in the bar with his own slave in tow, not recruitable; accused of loving slaves, he insists the man is only carrying his luggage. |
| Scarred Adventurer | Recruitable | Slave Markets | A randomly named freelance killer with a treacherous personality; the scar on his face came from opening a tin can with a knife. |
| Soldier Drone Swordslinger | Recruitable | Slave Markets | A randomly named, brave-natured Hive Soldier Drone who walked out when his owner told him to put the blade down. |
| Wall Man | Recruitable | Slave Markets | A randomly named Hive Worker Drone who specialises in walls; the South Wetlands are a popular place for a fortress on the water, which makes him worth taking along. |
| Slaver Boss | Merchant | Slave Markets, slave shop | He will buy knocked-out Starving Bandits and Rebel Farmers off you; you can also pay to buy a slave, which amounts to freeing them. |
| Swamp Ninja Jonin | Hostile | Swamp Ninja Base | The strongest Swamp Ninja rank inside the base; make sure the squad can hold against Jonin before you go in. |
History
- The Slave Markets have no industry at all — they produce nothing, they only sort and price the people the Red Sabres and the Swamp Ninjas bring in, then pass them on to Slave Farm South.
- In the game files the Red Sabres are still named the Water Clan, and their range overlaps exactly with the outlaws of the Red Rebellion — whether that is coincidence or descent, the game never says.
- The Swamp Ninjas keep their headquarters here rather than in the Swamp they are named after; the balance between them and the Red Sabres rests entirely on which boss falls first.
