The CraterReport
English:The Crater · Locations
Bowl-shaped crater floor. No man's land.
A vast pit with sheer walls and a flat floor: easy to walk into, and luck decides whether you walk out. There are no people, no water and not a blade of grass inside — only Beak Things and their food — and Skeletons passing through will tell you it did not use to be like this.

Wildlife
Notable units
| Name | Type | Where | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beak Thing | Hostile wildlife | Wandering all over the floor of the pit, plus randomly appearing Beak Thing nests (one to five per nest) | The whole pit is effectively their dining hall, and the Swamp Raptors covering the ground are the food. They run extremely fast and cannot be shaken off, and the pit walls are steep on all four sides, so the ways in and out are hard to find to begin with — most people are caught while circling around looking for the exit. To come in here you need legs that can run or hands that can win the fight; Polearms and the Falling Sun do particularly high damage to them. |
History
- Skeleton characters entering here blurt out that this place has changed — they remember when it was not a crater.
- An older version of Cat-Lon's CPU description read that an explosion in the Grid triggered the famine, naming this crater as the starting point of the Second Empire's decline; that text was later replaced officially, and the claim has hung unsupported ever since.
