BloodraidersReport
English:Bloodraiders · Factions
The bandits of The Eye, hostile to literally everyone. No leader, no towns — only the camps that spawn in Spine Canyon, and those camps are everything they own.
The Bloodraiders are the bandit faction of The Eye and the adjacent Grey Desert and Spine Canyon. Their faction relations table is one line long: the default relation towards every other faction is -100, and the moment the player discovers them the relation starts at -100 as well.
This faction has no friends and nothing to negotiate with.
One member type
The only character in the faction is the Blood Raider, always male, with race weights of Greenlander 100 and Shek 35.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Strength | 27–33 |
| Toughness / Dexterity | 20–26 |
| Perception | -2–4 |
| All melee weapon skills, Melee Attack/Defence | 20–26 |
They appear in patrols of 3 to 11 across the Grey Desert and The Eye, and sit in their camps in Spine Canyon. High Strength with unremarkable Toughness means they hit hard without being especially durable; the real danger is numbers plus terrain, since all three zones are wide open and running is rarely an option once they have your scent.
The camp is the headquarters
Blood Bandit Camps (also written Bloodraider Camps) spawn randomly and only in Spine Canyon. They are the faction's sole static locations, which is why the wiki draws the obvious conclusion: these temporary camps effectively are their headquarters. There is nothing else.
What a camp contains:
- Three squads of 3–10 Blood Raiders
- Ready-made camp beds, free for the player to use
- 2–7 randomly rolled items on the ground, drawn from a pool including Books, Cactus Rum and Chewsticks
Where the name comes from
The faction used to be called the Blood Bandits, and the old name is still sitting in the files: their colour scheme is literally named blood bandits.
More interestingly, the same scheme is used by the Reavers, whose internal rank of "Blooded" echoes the same motif. The game never states a connection, but that is what the data leaves behind.
What actually happens when you meet them
Because they are hostile to everyone, the most common sight is not them robbing you — it is them fighting somebody else: United Cities patrols, passing caravans, rival bandits, wildlife. A good share of the corpses lying around The Eye and the Grey Desert got there that way.
Practical notes:
- Do not camp in Spine Canyon early. The zone spawns their camps and nothing else; you would be building in someone's back yard.
- They are worth looting. A wiped patrol of up to eleven bodies is a meaningful pile of weapons and armour for a young squad.
- There is no diplomatic route. Unlike the Starving Bandits, who can be paid off, the Bloodraiders' relation is hard-coded at -100. No dialogue option exists.
