Leader of the Swamp Ninjas and a 20,000-Cat bounty for the Shek Kingdom; while she lives, the South Wetlands still get ninja patrols and Stone Rat Village still has a possible new owner.
Shade is the leader of the Swamp Ninjas, a Scorchlander woman who resides at the Swamp Ninja Base in the South Wetlands, south-east of Shark, alongside a crowd of Genin, Chunin and Jonin.
Attacking like a pack of bloody beasts!
The wanted poster
She is wanted by the Shek Kingdom for a bounty of 20,000 Cats. The poster reads:
Wanted: Shade Race: Scorchlander. Gender: Female Description: "Soft and floppy" Dagger-wielding ninja trash wanted for acts of theft and general deviousness. Please put her out of her pitiful existence where perhaps she might be reunited with her spine in the rotten, maggot eating depths of a coward's afterlife. Last seen cowering in a raptor hole in the swamps. Reward: 20,000
(The poster calls her a dagger user. She actually carries a Guardless Katana.)
Combat
Her stats before racial modifiers are Strength 25, combat stats 55 and stealth stats 60. Her weapon is an Edgewalkers-made Guardless Katana; her gear is fixed at Standard grade with a 10% chance of an upgrade. She wears a Swamp Ninja Mask, a Dyed Rag Shirt over a Leather Turtleneck, and Cargopants (colored).
For a gang leader that is low Strength and very high Stealth — a fighter who lives on speed and skill rather than trading blows.
What killing or imprisoning her does
Shade is a character with world states attached, and touching her rewrites the patrol structure of the whole swamp region:
- Killing or imprisoning Shade stops Swamp Ninja patrols in the South Wetlands entirely and cuts their numbers in the Swamp by 60%.
- Conversely, if Shade is still alive and the player takes down the Red Sabre Boss, Swamp Ninja squads in the Swamp roughly double — each patrol gains another 5 to 7 Chunin, 4 to 6 Genin and a possible Jonin.
- If Big Grim and Big Al are both dead while Shade is still alive, Stone Rat Village falls under Swamp Ninja control.
