Slave Master WadaReport
English:Slave Master Wada · Characters
The slave master of the southern port. He is the only Traders Guild noble with no influence at all over slave trader patrols — kill him and the squads that take people keep going out anyway.
Slave Master Wada is a slave master of the Traders Guild, living in the Noble House in Port South.
He is not a fixed person
Wada has a rare property in the game data: his race is randomised.
Load a given game and he may be a Greenlander, a Scorchlander, a Shek, or a Hive Soldier Drone. The four versions each have their own stat table, landing broadly at Strength / Toughness / Dexterity 30–50 and six weapon skills 30–50, with a random ±10 drift.
Put another way, "Wada" is a post, not a face. Within the Traders Guild's system that turns out to be unexpectedly apt — a slave camp needs someone to run it, and what that someone looks like, or which race he belongs to, is of no interest whatsoever to the institution.
His personality field is set to "Smart".
A port that is not a port
Port South is called a port, but it has no docks.
What it really is is a quarry: a mass of stone deposits and mixed ore mines, producing raw stone and raw ore that then travel along the supply lines to Bark and Heft. The town has three slave shops and a slaver bar; a player can buy or free slaves here, and can also sell captives for cash.
Wada's residence follows the standard configuration for a Traders Guild noble: 4 hooded Imperial noble guards and 4 Samurai Heavies, in full Specialist-grade armour (with a 10% chance of Masterwork). He himself carries a longsword whose value depends on the manufacturer, ranging from 4,722 Cats (Catun No.1) to 13,805 Cats (Skeleton Smiths Mk III).
There is no bounty on him. Killing or capturing him yields no cash at all; the only income is the longsword, the noble clothing, the Luxury Goods and that lump of hashish on his person.
What the world looks like once he falls
Wada is a character with several world states tied to him:
| Condition | Result |
|---|---|
| Wada down | Port South enters the ruined state |
| Wada + Emperor Tengu + Longen all down | Port South falls under Empire Peasants rule |
| Wada + any one of Longen / Ruben / Ren down | Heft becomes malnourished under United Cities rule |
| Wada + Lady Kana down | Bark becomes malnourished under United Cities rule |
| Wada + Lady Kana + Lady Sanda all down | Bark falls under Empire Peasant rule |
He is also counted among the Northern Slave Masters, whose other members are Longen, Lady Kana, Slave Master Grande, Slave Master Haga, Slave Master Ruben and Slave Mistress Ren. Once all seven are dead, Manhunter patrols in the Great Desert, Heng, the Skimsands and The Eye, along with slave hunter patrols in the Great Desert and Heng, stop spawning altogether.
Which is to say: to make the squads that take people disappear from the map, all seven of the northerners have to be cleared out together.
An exception specially noted
The wiki's miscellaneous section carries a note written specifically for him:
Of all the Traders Guild nobles, Slave Master Wada is the only one with no influence whatsoever over Slave Trader patrols.
When other guild nobles fall, they trim back one kind of patrol or another; Wada does not. He runs an entire slave camp and a supply line feeding two cities, and yet he does not appear on the faction's patrol roster.
One reading holds that this is simply a filing oversight. But placed within the game's narrative it is unexpectedly precise: slavery in Kenshi was never held up by any one villain.
