Slave Mistress Ren is one of the Traders Guild's nobles, living in the Noble House of the Slave Farm inside Heng. That town is controlled by slave traders, and its more than ten oversized cactus farms are sustained entirely by slave labour — she is the owner of that machine.

The bodyguard formation

Like other Traders Guild nobles, she is permanently assigned 4 Empire Noble Guards (hooded) and 4 Samurai Heavy characters. Those eight are her real protective layer — her own personality is flagged as Dumb, and her stats are merely noble-standard: Strength 27–45, Toughness 30–50, Dexterity 33–55, with weapon skills and melee attack and defence falling between 30 and 50 (with a random spread as wide as 10).

Her equipment is Specialist grade (10% chance of Masterwork), and her weapon was forged by the legendary smith Cross.

What she is carrying

For players inclined to robbery, Ren is one of the highest-return targets around Heng:

Meitou-grade Wakizashi: the highest weapon grade in the game, worth 31,478 Cats and selling for around 7,869 Cats.
Cash: a 90% chance of carrying money items worth 1,000–5,000 Cats.
Plus an Advanced First Aid Kit, Luxury Goods, Hashish and Grog.

NoteShe is not on any bounty list — no faction will pay for her head. Her value lies entirely in her equipment and cash, and in the world states her death sets off.

After she falls

Ren is one of the "Northern Slave Masters/Mistresses", alongside Longen, Lady Kana, Slave Master Haga, Slave Master Grande, Slave Master Wada and Slave Master Ruben. That list is the mechanical backbone that holds slavery up in this game.

ImportantEach Northern Slave Master who falls strips another layer from the Slave Trader, Manhunter and Slave Hunter patrols around The Great Desert; at the same time, the fall of any one of them starts patrols from the Anti-Slavers appearing in Heng. Once all seven have been killed or imprisoned, these slaver patrols vanish altogether.

Trivia

Ren, Lady Kana and Slave Mistress Grace all use a Meitou-grade Wakizashi. Those three weapons are multiple copies of the same type existing in the game at once, and stand as one example of how the official description "there are only a handful of Meitou weapons" fails to match the actual content.
