Slave Master HagaReport
English:Slave Master Haga · Characters
Master of Stone Camp, whose slave labour digs the stone that keeps three imperial cities supplied. In the files, his personality is "Fearful".
Slave Master Haga is a noble under the Traders Guild, running Stone Camp in the middle stretch of the Great Desert. That camp sits squarely on the trade road between Stoat and Sho-Battai — a position too good to be coincidence.
A town of nothing but stone and cages
Stone Camp's building list reads like an industrial balance sheet: ten stone mines, two Stone Processor IIIs, a slave shop, three rows of cages, two watchtowers — and a crematorium.
The stone here travels along the trade road to Stoat, Heng and Trader's Edge, and is believed to supply some of the Samurai legions in the north as well, all of it dug out of the pits by slave labour. The building signed "Slaver's Bar" contains no traders at all, so the player will not find a recruitable freed slave here either.
A slave master who gets frightened
One detail in Haga's character file is worth pausing on: his personality is set to Fearful.
That means he will want to run earlier in a fight than the average NPC. By contrast Lady Kana, the other northern slave master, is "Maniacal". A man who holds the lives of a hundred labourers in his hands is himself the least brave name on the list — the game does not comment, it simply writes it into the numbers.
His bodyguard line-up matches that of the other guild nobles: 4 hooded Imperial Noble Guards plus 4 Samurai Heavies, the whole group in Specialist armour (10% chance of Masterwork), with weapons from the Catun Scrapmaster or the Skeleton Smiths.
A randomised race
Haga is an exception in the files: his race is not fixed. On a new game he may spawn as a Greenlander, a Scorchlander, a Shek or a Hive Soldier Drone, each with its own stat table.
By comparison, every other slave master on the same list has a hard-coded race. The four stat sets do not differ greatly, all sitting broadly in the 30–50 band (±10 random variation), with the Shek version somewhat higher in Toughness and Melee Attack.
He falls, and three cities go hungry
Haga is the game's classic "supply node" target. Once he is killed or imprisoned:
- The whole of Stone Camp becomes a ruin, and its residents all die or disappear.
- If Slave Mistress Ren is dealt with as well: Stoat (under United Cities rule) falls into famine, and Bast and the Great Desert begin spawning malnourished Ronin Samurai (provided Emperor Tengu is still alive).
- If Grande and Ruben are dealt with as well: Heng (under United Cities rule) and Trader's Edge (under guild rule) both fall into famine.
- Slave Trader and Manhunter patrol frequency in the Great Desert drops moderately — but this one is shared with Lady Kana; whichever you kill first, it fires only once and does not stack.
Haga is also a member of the "northern slave masters" list, alongside Longen, Lady Kana, Ren, Grande, Ruben and Wada. With all seven down, Manhunter patrols in the Great Desert, Heng, the Skimsands and The Eye, and Slave Hunter patrols in the Great Desert and Heng, all disappear.
