SkimsandsReport
English:Skimsands · Locations
Rocky desert. No man's land. Main settlements: Tengu's Vault.
The Holy Nation's patrol lines and the United Cities' overlap on this rock and sand; both sides send troops, neither will found a town, and the front has stayed frozen that way for fifteen years. What actually rules here are the Skimmer packs that climb out of the sand after dark.

Notable units
| Name | Type | Where | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Vault Warden | Hostile boss | Tengu's Vault | A high-level boss carrying a Meitou-grade Jitte, and the biggest obstacle to any jailbreak plan. He carries no bounty himself. |
| Luquin | Recruitable | Tengu's Vault cell block | A Scorchlander fifteen years inside for assassinating Lord Kurusaga. Free him and he joins for nothing — or turn him in the other way for 30,000 Cats. |
| Espher | Recruitable | Tengu's Vault cell block | The only guaranteed Southern Hive Worker Drone in the game. Once freed he has to be escorted clear of the prison before he formally joins. |
| Sinklyde | Recruitable | Tengu's Vault cell block | A Shek of the madman type. Once recruited he runs the "Villain" dialogue pack and has no lines of his own. |
| Hex | Hostile | Tengu's Vault cell block | An anti-Empire Scorchlander fugitive. Let her out and she only runs off looking for a farm that stopped existing long ago. She cannot be recruited, and her value is exactly those 25,000 Cats. |
| Screamy | Hostile | Tengu's Vault cell block | A prisoner whose mind is gone: near 0 in every stat, yet carrying a 20,000 Cats bounty — the easiest head in the whole Vault. |
| Psycho | Hostile | Tengu's Vault cell block | A Greenlander fugitive with very high Martial Arts. He has a bounty, but the official data does not list the amount. Let him out and he simply runs off on his own. |
| Yabuta of the Sands | Quest-related | Tengu's Vault cell block | Let him escape alive and the "Yabuta Outlaws" come into being; from then on 5–9-strong Yabuta Outlaw patrols show up in the zone. |
History
- Fifteen years ago the Holy Nation punched through the border defences in one push, and the line froze about here — today the two armies only patrol the sand, and neither will take another step forward.
- The assassin Luquin killed several nobles, was paraded through the streets, and was locked into Tengu's Vault at the southern end of this zone — fifteen years ago and counting.
- A Behemoth's hand juts out of the sand — those oversized First Empire weapons did not even get to pick where they were buried.
