PsychoReport

English:Psycho · Characters

An outlaw held in a cell in Tengu's Vault, with a remarkable level of Martial Arts. His answer to "what are you in for" rewrites itself to match whoever is asking — and if you free him, he simply runs off.

Disembowling Humans. — Psycho, asked what he is in for by a human player character

Psycho is an outlaw held in Tengu's Vault, the military prison at the southern end of Skimsands where the United Cities keep the Empire's worst.

His personality tag is Crazy, and his Martial Arts is notably high for the company he is keeping in there.

The line changes

What Psycho is remembered for is not his stat block but the way he answers "what are you in for".

His answer rewrites itself to match the race of whoever is asking. A human character asks, and he says he disembowelled humans. Ask as another race, and the race he disembowelled changes with you.

Fandom offers two readings and settles on neither:

  1. He really has disembowelled all of those races; or
  2. He is simply trying to intimidate the person in front of him.

The game will not tell you which. That is exactly why the cell-block exchange is unsettling — the way you ask determines what he says.

What happens if you free him

Tengu's Vault holds several characters who join your squad once released. Psycho is not one of them.

Open his cell and he simply retreats. He does not follow you, he does not thank you, and nothing follows from it. Compare him with Yabuta of the Sands in the same prison: Yabuta escaping spawns an entire new faction, while Psycho escaping is just Psycho escaping.

Fandom files him under the Bounty category, but no amount is listed.

Statistics

Strength, Dexterity, Melee Attack, Melee Defence, Martial Arts, plus Katanas, Sabres, Hackers, Heavy Weapons and Blunt all sit at 40; Athletics and Field Medic likewise. Randomised by ±3 and multiplied by the Greenlander racial modifier.

Toughness is never set, so it sits near zero. His armour is Shoddy grade and he carries no weapon at all — the Martial Artist Bindings tell you how he intends to fight.
