Notable units
| Name | Type | Where | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cannibal Grand Wizard | Hostile boss | The Cannibal Capital (originally Deadcat) | Leader of the Cannibal faction; the Holy Nation, the Shek Kingdom and the United Cities all post 40,000 Cats for him at once. The chest in his hut hides the Captive’s Journal series. |
| Cannibal Chief | Hostile | The Cannibal Capital and the three Cannibal villages | The Cannibals’ petty chiefs. The Cannibal Capital alone holds at least 4, two of them standing guard over the Grand Wizard. |
| Mani | Merchant | The northern Scout Post, on the Cannibal Plains–Hidden Forest border | Second in command of the Flotsam Ninjas and a former Cannibal Hunter; talk him round and you can buy anything in the Scout Post. |
| Ghost | Hostile boss | The Berserker village in Berserker Country, outside this zone | Leader of the Berserkers. Kill him or carry him off and the Berserker patrols here drop to half the frequency and shrink from 2–8 down to 2–5. |
History
- The kingdom of Deadcat outlasted the collapse of the Second Empire but not the Cannibals; once the capital fell it became today’s Cannibal Capital, and the map still carries the old name.
- The ground is covered in high-grade ancient laboratories, and what grew out of it is the most primitive tribe on the continent — Finch the Machinist wrote an entire book about it and still could not reach a conclusion.
- The author of the Captive’s Journal was cut away piece by piece in the Grand Wizard’s hut, and his last line was for his brother Robun; Robun went on to lead the Cannibal Hunters.

- Stone Stone deposits are in good shape.[V1 0:01:08]

- Green Green fertility will grow just about anything, but there is no good local source of farming materials — Wheatstraw and Greenfruit have to be hauled in from outside.[V1 0:05:38]

- Copper Copper is of average quality, and the hardest part is finding copper and iron sitting close enough together; Paul Rogers reckons a single copper vein is all you need to cover the basics.[V1 0:01:42]

- Distance to supplies Whatever you still need to buy while building, World's End is the best place to get it.[V1 0:06:44]
- Defensible terrain If you build on the coast, the water itself covers your front, so you do not even need a front gate.[V1 0:06:10]
- Raids Cannibals attack in large groups; individually they are not strong, but their numbers let them knock people out one at a time and drag them away.[V1 0:02:14]
- Raids Beyond the Cannibals you will also run into Shrieking Bandits (mostly in the western half, in groups of up to 26), Berserkers and Beak Things.[V1 0:03:57]
- Raids Beak Things nest in this zone, and blundering into a nest means the end of the entire squad.[V1 0:05:05]
- Distance to supplies Being too far from other towns is the one genuine flaw of this area.[V1 0:07:17]
