Purple SandsReport
English:Purple Sands · Locations
Purple sand desert. No man's land.
Purple sand, half-buried satellite-shaped wreckage, a dust storm that never lets up all year, and zero water, zero ore, zero arable ground. It has the lowest spawn rate of any zone in the game, but that is not safety — it is that even bandits cannot be bothered to live here, and only cross it in groups now and then.

Notable units
| Name | Type | Where | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cannibals | Hostile squad | Roams across the region, crossing over from the adjacent Cannibal Plains area | A tribe that wanders over from the Cannibal Plains. They attack on sight, and not in order to take your things: anyone they knock out is carried off to their own camp or village and put in a cage, and once the cages start to fill up the prisoners are beaten to death one by one and thrown into the cooking pit. They do not eat Skeletons or animals, but they attack them all the same. Sometimes the whole group is made up of Scrawny Cannibals starved down to skin and bone, and in that case there are even more of them. |
| Shrieking Bandits | Hostile squad | Roams the whole zone, crossing over from The Shrieking Forest to the south | A large group that crosses over from the forest to the south. As with the others, they scream first and then attack, and choosing the right response can make them leave. The trouble is that this desert has no towns and no outposts, and the dust storms never stop, so if you run into them you have to handle it yourself. |
| Beak Thing | Hostile wildlife | Appears sporadically across the region, alone or in groups of two or three | One of the most dangerous predators in the world. It runs faster than a person, and once it has bitten someone down it eats them alive on the spot. Their core territory is the Leviathan Coast, and they migrate here by way of the Cannibal Plains; occasionally you can see a lone one lost in the desert. This region has no towns and no guards to fall back on, so if you cannot win the fight, do not be seen — they can outrun you. The reliable approach is to sneak around them at night, and if you are spotted, break line of sight before going back into stealth. |
History
- A whole batch of satellite-shaped ancient structures lies half-buried in the sand. Nobody can say what the First Empire dropped them here for; all anyone knows is that nothing has grown on this ground since.
