Scout PostReport
English:Scout Post · Locations
Two small Flotsam Ninja watch posts on the edge of the Cannibal Plains, each held by five to eight ninjas. One of them houses Mani, second in command — talk him round and he will sell you everything in the building, blueprints and six maps included.
The Scout Posts are two small outposts held by the Flotsam Ninjas on the edge of the Cannibal Plains. Both sit on the border between the Cannibal Plains and the Hidden Forest — the dangerous seam between Flotsam Village and cannibal country.
The Flotsam hid in this region precisely because the cannibal tribes deter their pursuers. But the thing that deters your pursuers will also come for you. The Scout Posts are what that contradiction looks like on the map.
What they can hold off
Each post is garrisoned by 5 to 8 Flotsam Ninjas. They can stop some groups of Scrawny Cannibals, but they tend to fold against:
- larger cannibal warbands
- the stronger regular Cannibals
- Shrieking Bandits and Berserkers
- the Beak Thing packs that wander this zone from time to time
A Scout Post is not a fortress. It holds the first wave, not the third.
Who lives here
One of the two — the northern post — is home to Mani, the Flotsam Ninjas' second in command and their Defence Captain. He is an ex-Cannibal Hunter who escaped a cannibal prison ten years ago, the only survivor of his patrol, and has tracked cannibals ever since.
His in-game function is very practical: talk him into it and he will sell you anything inside the Scout Post. For a squad that has just pushed north with no supplies left, that counter is a rare thing out here.

Blueprints and maps
This is where the real value sits. The post spawns three camp blueprints:
- Camp Shelter
- Mercenary Tent
- Scrap Tent
And six map items:
- Map of the Shek Kingdom
- Map of the Swamps
- Map of the United Cities (Extended Territories)
- Map of Vain
- Map to Mongrel
- Map to World's End
One visit lights up most of the eastern and southern half of the continent. For a tiny post in the far north-west, a long way from any city, that is an absurd return.
What it means for the player
The Scout Post's role in the game is simple: it is the only supply point in the north-west that will not eat you. There are no towns to speak of in the Cannibal Plains — the neutral-looking town marked Deadcat on the map has been the Cannibals' capital for a long time, and walking in only ends one way.
So if you are pushing north towards the Hidden Forest or the Northern Coast, the route plans itself: reach the Scout Post first, buy every map Mani has, and decide where to go from there.
