An uncommon katana modification sacrificing defence by removing the guard. It's more a psychological advantage than a physical one, knowing subconsciously that attack is your best defence promotes a more aggressive combat style. Gang bosses and Jonin tend to use them to equip their underlings because it makes trouble-makers on both sides more reluctant.

Guardless Katanas have a large bonus to the Melee Attack skill, while also having a hefty penalty to the Melee Defence skill. These two combined will cause a character to attack more often in comparison to normal. Though they may end up being defeated more easily if outnumbered due to the animations Katanas use.

The Meitou version of this weapon can be found on General Jang in Ashland Dome III.

This weapon has inventory dimensions of 1x7. It can be equipped in both the primary and secondary weapon slots.

This item can be crafted in various qualities using different levels of Weapon Smithing Bench after learning the appropriate blueprint.
