The guards of Mongrel and the Tech Hunters. The Mongrel ones hold the Fogmen off the town; the Tech Hunter ones stand in Adventurer Ranger Shops, Empire Ranger Shops and Tech Hunter bars. Their gear is Standard grade with a 10% chance of High, their weapons come from Catun Scrapmaster, and six in ten of them are female.

Two postings
Mongrel's Shinobi Guards patrol the town and hold off the endless Fogman assaults. That is worth something to the player: when the Fogmen come in numbers a Fog Prince usually comes with them, and the guards can handle it — stand in town and the bounty walks to you.
Tech Hunter Shinobi Guards stand in the shops instead: Adventurer Ranger Shops, Empire Ranger Shops, and Tech Hunter bars. The standing staff of an Adventurer Ranger Shop is one shopkeeper plus two to four of these guards.
On a first visit to Mongrel they can be talked to once, for information about the town and the Fog Islands.
Stats and gear
Shinobi Guards have no fixed race — Humans (Greenlanders and Scorchlanders), Shek, Hivers and Skeletons all spawn, and 60% of them are female.
Their gear is Standard grade with a 10% chance of High, and their weapons are Catun Scrapmaster Ninja Blades, with a 10% chance of an Oldworld Bow MkI instead. They usually carry a Basic First Aid Kit.
