Outlaw Swordsman CaptainReport

English:Outlaw Swordsman Captain · Characters

The field commander of the Rebel Farmers, and the strongest unit in the faction apart from Boss Simion himself. He always spawns with a bounty of 2,500–3,500 cats — in Bast, a zone with no towns and no shops, that is the most reliable income there is.

Uncle Simion, he got a mouth of dirt... but he got a heart of gold deep down... — an Outlaw Swordsman Captain on Boss Simion

The Outlaw Swordsman Captain is the man who actually leads troops in the Rebel Farmers. The wiki puts it plainly: apart from Boss Simion himself, he is the strongest character in the faction.

Two ways you meet him

He appears in two roles, and they mean very different things for the player:

SettingRole
Inside Fort SimionBoss Simion's personal bodyguard
Out on patrolSquad leader over Outlaw Heavies and Outlaw Swordsmen

In other words, when you run into a Rebel Farmer patrol in the wild, the figure at the front of it is usually him.

Gear and stats

His build does not come from his kit. His armour is a Basket Hat, a Heart Protector, a Leather Vest, Halfpants and Wooden Sandals, all Standard grade (5% chance of High), and his weapon is an Ancient-make Horse Chopper — a two-handed polearm-length blade with more reach than anything else in his squad.

For stats, his Strength, Toughness, Dexterity, every weapon skill and both melee attack and defence all sit between 27 and 39 (randomised by 6). Dodge and Martial Arts are near zero: he does not rely on footwork, he stands and swings.

His race is not fixed — he can spawn as a Greenlander or as a Hive Soldier or Worker Drone, and there is a 50% chance he is female. Picking him out of a crowd is faster by weapon than by face.

Why the player cares

Money. Every Outlaw Swordsman Captain carries a bounty of 2,500–3,500 Cats — not by chance, but always.

That matters especially in Bast: no towns, no shops, just fifteen years of frozen front line between two empires, with Rebel Farmer units spilling in from Sinkuun. For a squad that has just learned to beat bandits, knocking out patrol captains and hauling them in is one of the few dependable ways to turn this region into cash.

NoteIn the game files the Rebel Farmers are classified as a Bandit faction, and they will rob ordinary travellers. Do not let the word "rebel" fool you into treating them as a regular insurgent army.
