A factionless Hive Worker Drone, most likely exiled from the Western Hive. They wander Holy Nation and United Cities land, which is exactly why they end up as the main supply of Hiver slaves on both sides — and only a Hive player can take one in.

A Lost Drone is a Hive Worker Drone with no faction at all. They carry no armour and nothing but a Staff.

NoteDo not confuse them with the Lost Hivers, who are a separate case entirely — those only appear once something has happened to the Queen.

Who they are

The general reading is that these drones were separated from, or exiled by, the Western Hive.

They are common across both Holy Nation and United Cities territory, and that fact carries an uncomfortable inference: the Hiver slaves labouring for the Holy Nation in Rebirth, and the Hiver Empire Peasants of the United Cities, most likely come from this population.

The mechanics bear it out. If a Lost Drone walks into a Holy Nation town, or merely gets too close, the leading Gate Sentinel announces that their kind are not welcome, arrests them, and ships them off to Rebirth. In United Cities territory they are the easiest possible mark for Slave Hunters and Noble Hunters.

Recruiting one

ImportantOnly a Hive player character can take one in, and only inside an outpost you built yourself. Both conditions have to hold at once — the encounter has to happen in a Player Outpost, and the character approaching has to be a Hiver. Meet both and he simply joins; there is no fee.

Once recruited he uses the "Player HIVER Ronin" dialogue package. The data also suggests he has a set of lines specifically for Beep.

Figures randomise by ±2. Every combat-related entry sits at essentially zero — taking him into a fight is handing someone a free kill. His value is back at the base.
