Leader of the Cannibal Hunters, little brother of the writer of the Captive's Journal Series, and most likely the only survivor of the story those books record; pay him and his people will fight cannibals for you.
Cannibal Hunter Robun is the leader of the Cannibal Hunters, a Greenlander with a Brave personality. He is found in the Bughouse at The Bastion, the Cannibal Hunters' faction headquarters on the border of Darkfinger and Sinkuun, very close to Bast.
The "little brother" in the journals
Robun is the little brother of the writer of the Captive's Journal Series, and most likely the sole survivor of the story detailed in them.
That writer was dragged into a Cannibal village and watched his family cut apart and eaten one by one. By the final entry he is close to breaking, and still writes this:
Managed to pocket some wire during my trip to the chopping block. Everyone else may be gone, but they won't touch a hair on little brother's head. Now's time to get you out of here, Robun.
The journals are unique items found in the lair of the Cannibal Grand Wizard — reading the whole story means fighting your way back into their capital.
Hired help you can actually buy
The Cannibal Hunters are one of the few factions in the wasteland who help unprompted: they will heal any wounded stranger they come across. In faction terms they sit at -100 towards Cannibals and +100 towards the Tech Hunters.
The most practical point for players is this: the Cannibal Hunters can be hired at 3,000 Cats per day. For a squad heading into Darkfinger that is the most direct outside help available, because what they specialise in killing is exactly what is waiting there.
Their patrols turn up in or beside cannibal-infested zones, accompanied by their unique Mountain Dog. Patrols can spawn in the Cannibal Plains, the Hidden Forest, the Northern Coast and Sinkuun, and their camps can be found in the latter three.
Combat
Before racial modifiers, Strength 60, combat stats 60, stealth stats 60 and unarmed stats 30, randomised by ±6. His gear is 95% Standard grade and 5% High, with his weapon coming from Catun Scrapmaster or Skeleton Smiths at even odds.
He carries a Desert Sabre on his back, wears an Armoured Hood or a Tagelmust, Samurai Armour over a Chain Shirt (occasionally a Blackened Chain Shirt), with Drifter's Leather Pants and Drifter's Boots, plus a Small Backpack and a Basic First Aid Kit.
