English:Greyshelf · Locations
Bare rock highlands. Southern Hive. Main settlements: Southern Hive Village.
A whole shelf of bare rock propped above Stobe's Gamble, with the Southern Hive's patrol lines running between the acid rain and the Black Gorillos. The ancient armouries are still standing where they always were; it is only what waits behind the doors that has changed to Droneguards.

Notable units
| Name | Type | Where | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prince | Hostile boss | Patrols, and the Hiver-Claimed Armouries (two of them in this zone) | The Southern Hive's patrol commander; the standard formation is one Prince plus eight Droneguards, in standard-grade armour with long cleavers. His squads are the hostile unit you will meet most in this zone. |
| Droneguard | Hostile | Southern Hive Village, the Hiver-Claimed Armouries, and patrols across the zone | The bulk of the Southern Hive's soldier drones, in armoured rags with polearms; there are also scout parties of four. The Southern Hive is hostile to the player unconditionally, and the threat is in the numbers rather than the individual. |
| Armoury Droneguard | Hostile | The Hiver-Claimed Armouries | The garrison for the ancient armouries the Hive has taken; the loot in there is armour plating, chainmail sheets and steel bars, which makes them the zone's main supply point. |
| Gorillo | Hostile | Across the zone's wilds (Greyshelf is known for its Gorillo density) | The zone's signature beast — it comes alone, and it takes an enormous amount of killing; between them and the Black Gorillos they are the most dangerous thing in the Greyshelf wilds. |
| Black Gorillo | Hostile | Across the zone's wilds | The upgraded Gorillo, a rare spawn here; before you move anywhere in Greyshelf, work out whether you can survive meeting one. |
| Fog Prince | Hostile boss | The Deadhive ruins (what Southern Hive Village becomes once the Southern Hive Queen dies) | World-state gated: once the Southern Hive Queen is dead or imprisoned, the Southern Hive Village here turns into Deadhive ruins and starts spawning Fog Princes. The head needs no prisoner hauled back to town — any merchant will pay six thousand for it. |
History
- The Second Empire's armouries sat locked on this shelf for a thousand years; two of them are held by the Southern Hive now, with Droneguards behind the doors.
- The Shek call this whole south-eastern stretch, Greyshelf included, the Forbidden Zone, and seriously believe there are wailing souls wandering it.
- The moment the Southern Hive Queen dies, every hive settlement in the zone turns Deadhive at once.
