Crab QueenReport
English:Crab Queen · Characters
Ruler of the Crab Raiders and owner of the only Meitou Naginata in the game; she is one of the very few pit-gang leaders willing to be talked into an alliance, and a 40,000-Cat bounty with no wanted poster to advertise it.
The Crab Queen is the ruler of the Crab Raiders, a Scorchlander who holds court in the Palace of the Crab Queen in Crab Town, in the eastern Pits. She is officially classed as a "Superboss", and her combat power is far beyond that of an ordinary pit-gang leader.
We crabs are open-minded people. Prove yourself. We have enemies in the Pits. Show the crabs your loyalty and they will repay you.
An alliance you can talk your way into
Among the three great pit gangs, the Reavers will drag you off to serve as a slave soldier and the Skeleton Bandits will convert you into a machine. Only the Crab Queen offers a multiple-choice question. Speak well of crabs in conversation with her and the alliance is yours on the spot; but say that crabs are stupid, or admit you have eaten one, and eligibility is locked out immediately.
Being locked out is not the same as being finished, though. Even after the conversation goes wrong, the player can win eligibility back through the Crab Tournament — and one of the preconditions for the tournament is precisely that the Crab Queen is still on her throne. See Crab Raiders for details.
Combat power and gear
Her numbers put her in the top tier among humanoids:
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Strength | 82.8 – 95.4 |
| Toughness | 63 – 77 |
| Dexterity | 69.3 – 84.7 |
| Athletics | 75.6 – 92.4 |
| Six weapon skills | 63 – 77 |
| Melee Attack / Defence | 63 – 77 |
The Meitou Naginata in her hands is the only one in the game, worth roughly 44,069 Cats, forged by the legendary smith Cross. The naginata carries a +50% damage bonus against animals and demands only 16 Strength — with her 80-plus Strength she swings it entirely unencumbered, and very fast.
Her armour is a full crab set: Crab Armour, Crab Trousers and Crab Shoes over a Rusty Chain Shirt, 90% Specialist and 10% Masterwork. She also carries a single Basic First Aid Kit (76 Cats).
She additionally has her own dedicated colour scheme, so her clothing and armour do not match the faction's standard colours — the palette is tied to her personally, not to the Crab Raiders.
The bounty: a price with no poster
The United Cities offer 40,000 Cats for her and the Rebel Swordsmen will pay the same, each granting +2 relations. The oddity is that she has no wanted poster. Every other pit-gang leader has a bounty sheet stuck up on a wall; she alone does not, which makes her the easiest high-value target in the game to overlook entirely.
After she falls
The Crab Queen's death or imprisonment sets off a whole chain:
- Crab Town falls to the Fishmen.
- Crab Village either becomes Reaver territory or simply collapses into ruins, depending on whether the Reaver leader Valamon is still alive.
- Crab Raider patrols in Sniper Valley disappear entirely; the patrols in Greenbeach, Stobe's Garden, the Crags and the eastern Pits "disintegrate".
- The regular patrols of 8–14 raiders with 4–10 crabs, and the 1–2 man scouting parties, are all replaced by broken little groups of one malnourished raider with 3–5 baby crabs.
- The Crab Tournament and the "Crabbified" event stop firing.
Conversely, as long as she lives, her power actually expands as others fall:
- Valamon dead → the Crab Raiders take over Ark.
- Add Tsugi dead → the raiders begin spawning on the Stormgap Coast.
- Add Yoshinaga dead → the raiders begin spawning in Heng.
