The muscle two ninja factions share. Two or three stand in every Thieves Guild tower and more guard the Trade Ninja bars — the same character type, hired by whoever owns the building.
A Ninja Guard is a generic guard character that spawns for either the Shinobi Thieves or the Trade Ninjas. Which faction one belongs to depends entirely on where it is standing.
For the Trade Ninjas they are shop guards — the bar in Mourn is the usual example. For the Shinobi Thieves they stand inside the Thieves Guild towers, two or three per tower, and occasionally outside them.
Why they are there
The tower's own Thieves are specialists with a Melee Attack in the teens. The Ninja Guard is the one who can actually hold a door: Strength 25–35 against a Thief's 17–23. After you join the Shinobi Thieves by talking to the Thief Boss, they become allies and defend you when you are attacked.
They carry a Ninja Blade made by Catun Scrapmaster and wear [Shoddy] gear with a 10% chance of [Standard]. Their armour and clothing have a colour scheme attached, so they are dyed.
