Holy Military BaseReport

English:Holy Military Base · Locations

Two Holy Nation military outposts on the western edge of Okran's Gulf. They were not built to fight the Shek — they were built to hold back the Fog Islands, and when they fall, the Fogmen move straight in.

Holy Military Base is a military outpost of The Holy Nation. There are exactly two of them in the world, both on the western edges of Okran's Gulf. Acquiring and reading the Glorious Holy Map puts both on your world map at once.

The Holy Nation builds plenty of things on its own soil, but these two are the only ones that exist purely as military installations — no farms, no temple establishment, no civilian life. Just barracks, an armoury, a power station and a few attached supply points.

The reason they stand here is the west

The wiki makes a fairly firm argument about what these bases are for, and the evidence is not a document — it is the world states:

Run that backwards and there is only one answer: these bases were built to seal off the west. Without them the Fogmen would have overrun Okran's Gulf from that side long ago.

It also explains the defensive shape of the region. Okran's Gulf is heavily fortified in the south and west and noticeably thin in the southeast and north — High Inquisitor Seta at Stack holds the Shek off in the south, and these two bases hold the west.

TipOkran's Gulf has a second Fogman catastrophe as well — the death of The Queen triggers a Fog Deathyard invasion. That one is unrelated to the Holy Military Bases: it comes in from Vain and Dreg to the south and southwest, and the bases are not in that direction.

What separates the two

They are not built from the same plan. The northern one is purely military; only the southern one carries supply functions:

In short: if you want to do business at a Holy Military Base, go to the southern one. The northern base has nothing beyond its armoury.

What's here

The wiki names the Holy Bakery, the Hospital and the Holy Armory as the structures you can trade with.

NoteThe Holy Hospital is one of the few reliable sources of Medical Supplies in the region. But this is a Holy Nation military installation — non-humans, characters with robotic limbs, and anyone carrying contraband are asking for a fight the moment they walk in.

Who mans it

The garrison is spelled out precisely in the game data:

For an outpost that is a dense posting — High Paladins are not common in the field, and two of them spawn here as standard.

Phoenix falls, and so does the wall

The base's world state is tied to exactly one man: Holy Lord Phoenix.

Phoenix is killed or imprisoned → both bases become ruins overtaken by the Fogmen.

The wiki's reading is that the military evacuated after Phoenix was removed, which let the Fogmen walk in. And this override lines up exactly with the drastic increase in Fogman Nest infestation across Okran's Gulf — the line breaks, and infiltration goes unchecked.

The overrun base is restocked as:

ImportantThis is where the Holy Nation's ugliest trade-off gets quantified. The player kills one religious tyrant; the price is an entire western defence line collapsing and a whole region being eaten by Fogmen. Kenshi will not tell you whether that was the right call — it just puts the consequence on the map, unedited.

The version players never see

The Holy Military Base actually has a second override in the data: Destroyed — same trigger, Phoenix falling, at least one base reduced to empty ruins.

It will never appear in your game. Town overrides resolve by priority, and the Destroyed version always ranks below the Fogmen version, while both share identical conditions. So whenever the condition is met, the Fogmen version wins.

Without mods, this is a piece of content that was written and can never be read.
