Cannibal Villages (Cannibal Plains)Report

English:Cannibal Villages (Cannibal Plains) · Locations

The three outposts ringing the Cannibal Capital on the Cannibal Plains. They are the Cannibals' staging grounds, and the outer ring of a fake town that still shows up on your map as neutral.

There are three Cannibal Villages on the Cannibal Plains, and all three point at the same place — the Cannibal Capital.

Three points around one town is not dispersal. It is a defensive ring.

The fake town and its outer ring

The Cannibal Capital used to be the Deadcat people's town. It has fallen — and it still initially appears on the map as the neutral town of Deadcat. The purpose of that disguise is not subtle: it lures in the very people the Cannibals are chasing.

The three villages are that fake town's outer ring. Anyone walking toward the "neutral town" icon meets them first.

NoteCannibals do not negotiate and do not rob. A downed character gets carried back to a village and put in a cage, waiting for the spit. An all-Skeleton squad will not be cooked, but it will still be beaten down.

The fourth one

If Moll, leader of the Flotsam Ninjas, dies, Flotsam Village is overridden into a fourth Cannibal Village.

In other words, three is not a ceiling. Every time the northern line gives way, the Cannibal outposts move up one square.

Should you take them

Cannibal Villages have no shops, no noble house and no high-value loot. They are a source of threat, not a vault.

There are exactly two reasons to attack one:

  1. Pressure relief. The Cannibal Plains has 60% water, 75% fertility and iron and stone everywhere — the best land on the continent and the worst place to settle, and these three villages are why. Anyone building here has to deal with them eventually.
  2. Freeing people. The prisoner cages are often full of Shrieking Bandits — the two groups skirmish constantly across this ground, and the losing side gets carried into a cage.

For squad compositions and force numbers, see Cannibal Village. If you want to pull the whole thing out by the root, the target is the Cannibal Capital, not these three outposts.

TipThe two-character Cannibal Hunters game start places you beside a random Cannibal Village. The design intent is plain: drop the player, at minute one, in exactly the place they should not be.
