The Gorrillo BanditsReport
English:The Gorrillo Bandits · Factions
Bare-handed martial artists holding the Old Prison in the Bonefields. Beating them yields no weapons to loot, because they never carried any.
The Gorrillo Bandits are a minor hostile faction in the southern part of the world, led by the giant nicknamed the Boulder, Gorrillo.
Everyone fights bare-handed
The distinctive thing about this faction is how it fights: every member except the leader is a Martial Artist.
They wear a Gi in the body armour slot and put only light armour in the shirt and trouser slots, deliberately staying unencumbered so they can fight unarmed.
That has two very concrete consequences:
In the player's favour — they are badly exposed to ranged attacks. With no real armour, a single crossbow volley can put the whole group down. Bringing crossbowmen is the standard answer to clearing them without taking a scratch.
Against the player — you cannot loot their weapons. Kenshi's disarm mechanic only takes weapons off a downed character, and the Gorillo Bandits have no weapons to take. They stand back up at full effectiveness; there is no way to weaken them by stripping their gear.
Territory
Patrols spawn in the Bonefields and Flats Lagoon.
The Old Prison is the only location they control, sitting in the southeastern corner of the Bonefields. The building has changed hands repeatedly — the main tower shares its shape with an Ancient Tech Lab, and it is ringed by a surprisingly well-built wall and one collapsed watchtower.
By race, Greenlanders, Scorchlanders and Shek all carry a relative weight of 100 — this is an organisation with no racial preference at all.
The leader is the exception
Gorrillo himself is the only member who does not fight unarmed. He carries a Meitou-grade Exile Plank and wears Mercenary Leather Armour, a Rusty Chain Shirt, ragged Halfpants and Samurai Boots.
His bounty is 50,000 Cats, redeemable with both the Shek Kingdom and the United Cities, one of the largest in the game. His men each carry a 5,000-Cat bounty as well, though only about 3% of individuals actually have one attached.
What it means in practice
Their faction relation table is empty — no special relations with anyone, default 0 — while being automatically hostile to the player. In other words they antagonise no organisation; they only rob travellers.
For a minor faction, their value is concentrated in the 50,000 on their leader's head. The Old Prison is not far from Catun, which makes this a short, extremely well-paid job for a mid-game squad — provided you brought crossbows.
