English:Fort Mirage · Locations

Lord Mirage's little fort out in the Great Desert, with manned mounted crossbows on the roof and nearly ten City Heroes inside. There is nothing valuable in it — walking in only buys you a war with the United Heroes League.

Fort Mirage is a minor outpost in The Great Desert owned by Lord Mirage, and the home base of the United Heroes League. Nearly ten City Heroes live inside.

What happens when you walk in

You get attacked.

City Heroes will attack player characters on entry, and the moment you fight back, the entire United Heroes League turns hostile. There is no negotiating this — no dialogue option, no toll.

NoteIf you are already on bad terms with City Heroes, approach with care — the Mounted Crossbow Turrets on top of the building are manned. The bolts are in the air before you reach the wall.

What is here

No valuable loot.

That is worth repeating, because Fort Mirage looks very much like a base worth taking: walls, turrets, a "Lord". In practice, clearing it gets you a pile of shoddy gear.

Who is Lord Mirage

Lord Mirage leads the United Heroes League, carries a Nodachi and wears Shoddy armour (40% chance of Standard). The stats are not impressive: Strength 47–53, Toughness and Dexterity only 22–28.

The title is of unknown origin. The wiki is honest about it — nobody knows whether he is a minor United Cities noble who raised his own militia, or simply a common thug who took up the mantle of "Lord".

City Heroes themselves are the racist, pro-Empire vigilantes and "patriots" of the League. Besides garrisoning Fort Mirage, squads patrol Bark, Heft, Heng, Sho-Battai and Stoat, and occasionally leave the walls to patrol Heng and The Great Desert.

The name

"Mirage" most likely comes from the building's position — a fort standing in the middle of the desert.

What it means for the player

Fort Mirage matters not for its loot but because it is a problem you can solve once. City Heroes harass the player throughout United Cities territory, their leader lives here, and his stats are low. If you want the roads of The Great Desert to be quieter, this is a low-paying but permanent errand.

Conversely, if you plan to trade inside United Cities towns long term, stay away.
