The Queen of the South's personal guard. Ten to thirteen of them stand around her throne, each with combat stats of 70 and a naginata. Anyone going after the Southern Hive queen has to get through the whole ring first.
The Elite Droneguard is the personal bodyguard of the Queen of the South. They appear in exactly one place: Southern Hive, at the southern end of the Royal Valley, arrayed around her throne.
Ten to thirteen of them stand there permanently. This is not a patrol. It is a wall.
How much better than a normal Droneguard
Southern Hive guards come in three tiers: Droneguard, Armoury Droneguard, and Elite Droneguard. Fandom sums up the gap in a single line — the Elite Droneguards are far more skilled than either of the others.

Randomised by ±5, then multiplied by the Southern Hive Soldier Drone racial modifier. Combat stats of 70 is boss-bodyguard territory — and there are ten to thirteen of them at once.
Their gear is a Skeleton Smiths Naginata (a polearm, +50% against animals, -8 indoors), armour at Standard 89% / High 11%, and one Basic First Aid Kit each.
The moment you step inside
Elite Droneguards attack the player for trespassing — you do not have to swing first, and your faction standing does not matter.
That is the Southern Hive's standard practice. In this valley, people who go down are not robbed. They are tied to a post.
