Barrier TowerReport
English:Barrier Tower · Locations
A Skeleton Legion gun tower planted in Sonorous Dark, its roof lined with Upgraded Watchbots on Harpoon Turret MkIIs. The name says what it is for — sealing off the shortcut into the Ashlands from this side.
Barrier Tower is a gun tower the Skeleton Legion planted in Sonorous Dark, and the only ancient location in that volcanic waste.
What it blocks
Sonorous Dark is the porch of the Ashlands. In theory you could follow the terrain along this side and slip into the Ashlands without going through King's Valley — the Barrier Tower exists to make that impossible.
Its walls seal off the easy passage entirely. What looks like a gap is impassable, and getting across for real means swimming through acid water, right underneath the tower.
Who holds it
The tower is held by Upgraded Watchbots, members of the Skeleton Legion, all of them behind Harpoon Turret MkIIs.
Their stat spread is extreme: Perception, Crossbows and Precision Shooting all sit at 102–114 and Turrets at 85–95, while melee is only 40–50. They wear [High] armour (20% chance of [Specialist]), carry a Skeleton Repair Kit, and their Eagle's Crosses are often [Specialist] or [Masterwork].
A Harpoon Turret MkII does 90 pierce damage at 120 m. Firing from height increases a turret's damage and accuracy further — meaning the numbers hitting you from below are worse than the sheet suggests.
What is here
Besides the turrets and their crews, Barrier Tower offers something genuinely useful: the beds inside are not marked as private, so they are free to use.
The middle bed has a table in the way, but it still works — click it while standing on the stairs above and your character will lie down.
For loot, the Eagle's Crosses the Watchbots carry are the prize; the Skeleton Repair Kits on them are worth taking too if you run Skeletons.
Why you would come
There are two ways to play Barrier Tower.
Walk around it. If you only want to reach the Ashlands, the tower is a wall. Accept it and take the King's Valley route.
Take it down. If your squad can already handle ranged units with 100+ Perception, this is an efficient gear farm: [Specialist] and [Masterwork] Eagle's Crosses are hard to buy, and there is a row of them up there. Clearing it also gets you free beds — the last place to sleep before the Ashlands.
Its sibling is the Sniper Tower in The Pits, built the same way, with every turret facing north — again, so nobody takes that shortcut into the Ashlands either.
