Sniper TowerReport
English:Sniper Tower · Locations
The tower at the mouth of The Pits, with a full crew of MkII Harpoons on the roof all facing north. They are not defending the tower — they are stopping anyone from walking this way into the Ashlands. The third floor has beds that heal at 8x.
The Sniper Tower is a point of interest in The Pits, controlled by the Skeleton Legion. Upgraded Watchbot Skeletons man MkII Harpoons at the top of the tower.
Every barrel points north
This is the single most interesting fact about the Sniper Tower: all the harpoons on the roof face north.
They are not defending the tower. They are closing a road — preventing players from using The Pits as an easy access point to the Ashlands.
What a frontal assault needs
- Heavy armour with 100% coverage is recommended. Harpoon damage is not something dodging solves.
- Their ranged weapons will often hit you through the floors. Standing one level down is not cover.
- The liquid surrounding the area is acidic. The approach itself wears the squad down.
Upgraded Watchbots are Skeleton Log-Head MkII models wearing High armour (20% chance of Specialist), carrying an Eagle's Cross (50%) or a Longsword. Their Perception and Crossbows are both 102–114, Turrets 85–95 — in short, they rarely miss. They carry Skeleton Repair Kits, and their ranged weapons can be Masterwork.
The same guard type also appears at the Barrier Tower.
What you get for clearing it
There is no loot table, but there is something genuinely useful:
The third floor has beds, which give organic characters the usual 8x healing multiplier.
How to go around it
If all you want is to reach the Ashlands, you do not have to fight this tower.
There are three common routes into the Ashlands, and one of them is swimming in slightly east of the Sniper Tower. In the wiki's own words: as long as you do not go looking at that tower, you can get past safely.
What it means for the player
The Sniper Tower is a checkpoint the Skeleton Legion left on the map. It does not sortie, does not patrol, does not expand — it just stands there with a road shut behind it.
For the player it is two things at once: a high-risk fight, and a very clear signpost. Once you see that row of northward barrels, you know you are standing at the door to the Ashlands.
