War GorilloReport
English:War Gorillo · Creatures
A Gorillo "domesticated" by the Southern Hive, with 80 in every stat and two extra attack slots. It does not roam the wilds — you meet it escorting a Royal Valley patrol, or arriving with the assault party that came to take your base apart.
The War Gorillo is a type of Gorillo "domesticated" by the Southern Hive.
The quotation marks are the wiki's own. Nobody knows how the Southern Hive got a Gorillo to obey — and given that these are the people who feed living captives to a crusher called King, the process was probably not gentle.
How it differs from other Gorillos
Gorillos have their own animal faction in the game, but the War Gorillo does not belong to it — it and the Great White Gorillo are the only two exceptions. It sits under the Southern Hive instead, which is another way of saying that it is not wildlife. It is materiel.
| White Gorillo | Black Gorillo | War Gorillo | |

Where you meet it
There are exactly two situations.
One: the Royal Valley They generally stay near the primary nest of the Queen of the South and can be seen throughout Southern Hive territory — the Royal Valley and Greyshelf, south of Flats Lagoon and Mourn. This is already one of the least welcoming regions in the game: the Southern Hive is permanently hostile to the player, with no way to negotiate.
Two: your own outpost
- Hive Eviction — three squads, each of 8 Droneguards, 1 War Gorillo, and a Prince leading.
- Hive Attack — triggers only if you have kidnapped (not killed) the Queen of the South. Seven squads on the first visit, six on later ones, each with a War Gorillo, and one of them escorting King himself.
Combat threat
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Melee Attack / Defence / Strength / Dexterity / Toughness / Athletics | 80 |
| Martial Arts | 8 |
| Randomised by | ±15 |
| Health | 125–345 |
| Head | 90–354 (hit chance 100) |
| Chest / Stomach / both arms | 120–472 (hit chance 100) |
| Both legs | 60–236 (hit chance 100) |
| Extra attack slots | 2 |
| Hunger rate | 5 |
Two numbers decide how dangerous it is.
One: 80 in everything. That is Black Gorillo tier, far above an ordinary white Gorillo's 60, and it still rolls ±15 on top — an unlucky spawn is pushing 95.
Two: two extra attack slots. It can engage three opponents at once, which badly blunts the standard tactic of swamping a beast with bodies so your squad can grind it down in turns.
As for damage, its "weapon" provides a flat 5.2 cut and 13 blunt that stats do not affect. Of its three attack animations, two are full power and one is 70%. The real formulae, at the best weapon quality:
- Cut = 5.2 + 0.076 × (Martial Arts + Dexterity)
- Blunt = 13 + Martial Arts ×0.049 + Strength ×0.146
In other words it is a blunt-damage creature. It will not cut you in half; it will knock you out. In a Southern Hive context that is not good news — they take people alive so King can eat them.
Drops
Its only death item is Animal Skin ×8, at roughly 240 Cats each. Measured against the difficulty that is a miserable return — nobody hunts War Gorillos for money. You will fight one for exactly two reasons: it stands between you and the Royal Valley, or it is currently breaking down your gate.
