There is exactly one Reaver Camp in The Outlands, out on the rugged hills that also hold Black Scratch. It is one of three locations in the world by that name, and the only one of the three without a Corpse Furnace.

For the player, this camp matters for reasons that have nothing to do with its loot. It is the physical address of The Outlands' travel risk.

Why this one specifically

All three Reaver Camps share the same name in the game data (FCS name "Reaver Camp"); only the buildings differ:

LocationDifference
The Outlands (this article)The only one without a Corpse Furnace
Stobe's GardenThe only one with a Swamp Dome
Stobe's Garden (near The Crags)Sits on the zone border

What makes the Outlands camp distinct is its neighbour: Black Scratch, whose walls hold the most complete blueprint library on the continent. Inside those walls is what the Tech Hunters can hold. Outside them is not. The Reaver Camp is outside.

NoteThe wiki's advice for this zone is blunt — watch your encumbrance. In The Outlands, running matters more than winning, and an overloaded character cannot run. Reaver patrols (1 Reaver Ironclad, 4 to 7 Blooded and 1 to 6 Reaver Slaves) are extremely common here, with a spawn weight of 20 while Valamon lives.

Who is inside

The Reavers are bandits who believe they, not the United Cities, deserve to be in charge, led by Valamon out of Ark. They press captives into forced service and send them to the fray to prove their worth or die — and their mid-to-senior ranks very likely arrived that way themselves.

Standard garrison for one camp:

UnitCount
Reaver Blooded11 to 17
Reaver Ironclad4
Reaver Whelp4 to 6
Reaver Neophyte2 to 4
Reaver Slave2 to 12

That is twenty to forty bodies standing in it at any time. Not a roadside nest you clear in passing.

After they carry you in

The single most important fact about these camps: characters knocked out by the Reavers are likely to be taken to one of them.

In The Outlands the odds of that are especially high, because patrol density here is the worst of the three zones and the camp sits close to Black Scratch, right across the trade route. Being knocked out is not death — you wake up in the camp as a slave, stripped. Escape is possible, once the locks or shackles are dealt with.

TipIf the whole squad is captured, the first job is not fighting — it is finding the gear boxes. The Reavers do not throw away what they take. It is in the camp.

Loot

Everything spawns at the same relative chance, except the Trader's Wooden Backpack and Medium Backpack, which appear about half as often.

Backpacks: Trader's Wooden Backpack, Medium Backpack, Scavenger's Basket, Small Backpack

Supplies: Advanced First Aid Kit, Advanced Splint Kit, Standard First Aid Kit, Splint Kit, Sleeping Bag, Motor, Book

Food and drink: Bread, Dried Meat, Meatwrap, Foodcube, Gohan, Rice Bowl, Dustwich, Sake, Grog, Bloodrum, Cactus Rum, Chewsticks, Hashish, Water Jug

Odds and ends: Pearl Cup, Pearl Urn, Cup, Wooden Bowl, Lantern, Luxury Goods, Empty Grog Can, Empty Rum Bottle

The character of that list is unmistakable: no AI Cores, no blueprints, just household goods. This is not a ruin, it is somewhere people live — and they consume what they take.

World states

Reaver Camps can be overridden by two world states: Destroyed, and a Southern Hive takeover.

TipOnce Valamon is killed or kidnapped, Reaver raids on player outposts stop. If you plan to settle in The Outlands or the south-east, dealing with him is the direct answer.
