Holy Nation RobotReport
English:Holy Nation Robot · Characters
Randomly named skeletons wandering inside Holy Nation territory. They are frightened enough of paladins to say so out loud — and under a brutally narrow set of conditions, one of them can be recruited, once per playthrough.
I have to go… before the paladins come for me… — Holy Nation Robot
The Holy Nation Robot is a randomly named skeleton of the Skeletons faction, wandering in squads of 1–4 through Okran's Valley, the Northern Coast and Wend.
The name carries "Holy Nation", but these are not Holy Nation troops. The signature line settles the relationship: they are hiding from paladins. A walking machine inside a country that treats technology as original sin does not need much further explanation.
They carry a 20% chance of a 2,000-Cat bounty.
Recruitment: conditions bordering on cruel
The Holy Nation Robot has a unique recruitment dialogue, but opening it requires every one of the following at once:
- He is in a squad consisting only of himself (spawned alone, with no followers).
- He has never seen the player before.
- He is not imprisoned.
- The player is not imprisoned.
- The player is within talking range.
- The player is not inside a non-player town.
- The player is not a skeleton (not the same race as him).
- The player is not in combat.
- The player's Strength, Dexterity, Melee Attack, Melee Defence, Martial Arts and Dodge are all below 25, or those six stats sum to less than 75.
If every condition holds, he will call out "He/She saw me…" on sighting the player, followed by "…Do what you will, human…". At that point he can be clicked to continue the conversation.
Only one path leads to recruitment: offer to help repair his damage (regardless of whether he actually has any) and declare your defiance of the Holy Nation. Choose "I just like helping people and have no hidden agenda" instead and the dialogue simply ends with no recruit.
There is also a back door: use the Slave Recruit exploit to buy him out of the slavers' hands. The price is 20,000 Cats.
Combat
Combat stats 25, randomised by ±5 and multiplied by the skeleton racial modifier. That modifier makes the number harder than it looks on paper, and skeletons neither eat nor get eaten after being knocked down.
His weapon is a Skeleton Smiths Nodachi; his clothing rolls between a Longcoat, Mercenary Leather Armour, a Ninja Gi and a Sleeveless Dustcoat, all at Shoddy grade. Every one of them carries a Skeleton Repair Kit.
