The captain who runs a caravan and trades outside the city walls, for both the Traders Guild and the Holy Nation. He is a general store that walks to you — and if Harmothoe dies, one of them takes over the Free Traders caravan.

Caravan Trader Bosses are named traders of the Traders Guild and the Holy Nation. The name says it plainly: they lead caravans through territory those two factions control, doing business beyond the city walls.
A general store that walks to you
For the player, the value of a Caravan Trader Boss is location: there are almost no trading points out in the wild, and this one comes to you. That matters most in places like the Holy Nation's western reaches, where the towns sit a long way apart — you do not have to walk a load of goods back into a city to sell it.
The caravan also comes with guards and pack animals, which makes it a fighting squad as well as a shop. Count heads before you decide to rob it.
Gear and combat
A Caravan Trader Boss is not a weak character. Strength, Toughness, Dexterity and all six weapon skills sit in the 45–55 band (combat baseline 50, ±5 spread), while Dodge and Martial Arts land at 0–10 — he can fight, but he cannot evade.
His weapon is a Longsword on the hip, almost always made by Catun Scrapmaster (98.04%), with only a sliver of a chance (1.96%) of rolling a Skeleton Smiths piece. For clothing it is the standard merchant kit: Trader's Leathers over a Leather Shirt or Leather Vest, padded Halfpants and Wooden Sandals, with a coin-flip between a Straw Hat and a Cap. The whole outfit is Standard grade 90% of the time, High grade the other 10%.
He carries a Trader's Wooden Backpack.
He is also the understudy
One further note from the wiki: if Harmothoe is killed, a Caravan Trader Boss replaces her as the leader of the Free Traders caravan.
In other words, the game's data treats this role as a generic caravan commander — when a named character goes down, this is who steps into the slot.
