A watchtower in Stobe's Garden holding exactly six Ancient Science Books, ringed by thirty to forty Elder Blood Spiders. It is the only place in the game that spawns Elder Blood Spiders, and one of the densest payouts on the Tech Hunter route.
The Tower of Spiders is a watchtower in Stobe's Garden. Its role in the game is simple: a pile of valuable things with a very difficult ring of guards around it.
Reading a Tech Hunters Map marks it on the player's map.
The guards
The tower is surrounded by 30 to 40 Blood Spiders, and all of them are Elder — age multiplier 1.6x to 2.0x.
That detail matters, because age in Kenshi is a stat multiplier. A normal Blood Spider has Melee Attack and Defence of 40; at 2.0x, their effective stats reach the eighties. And Elder Blood Spiders exist in exactly one location — this one, nowhere else.
Their weakness is equally clear: they take badly to bleeding damage, though they recover lost blood quickly. Once one is down, looting its teeth kills it outright, which stops it getting back up.
What is here
Total stock inside the tower is 20 items, refreshed every 24 hours. The Artifacts system does not spawn here — meaning no randomly rolled top-tier weapons or armour.
But there is one guarantee: exactly 6 Ancient Science Books spawn at this location.

Those six Ancient Science Books alone are worth 30,000 Cats, and they are research material — for a player pushing tech, their practical value is well above the sticker price.
What it means for the player
The Tower of Spiders is a major target on the Tech Hunter route for one straightforward reason: it is one of the few guaranteed-quantity sources of Ancient Science Books.
In most ancient ruins those books are a chance roll. Here it is a fixed six. And the tower restocks every 24 hours, which makes it a repeatable run — as long as you can handle thirty-odd spiders every time.
Some practical notes:
- Spiders bleed. Cutting weapons work far better here than blunt ones.
- You can outrun them in the open. A pack of Elder Blood Spiders will not catch a lightly loaded squad on flat ground — when pursued, run for open terrain, not for water.
- Loot teeth immediately after a knockdown, or they will get back up.
