The armed faithful of Cult Village, every one of them carrying a Moon Cleaver and attacking outsiders on sight; anyone they knock down is tied to a metal pole and hacked to death whenever the mood takes them.
Moon Guardians are the armed members of the Preacher Cult, stationed in Cult Village on the Stormgap Coast.
Moons almighty, make it rain... Flesh for the birds and blood for the sands... Take what is dirt and purify the lands... Rain for the harvest, blood for the sands!
What they believe
The cult is led by the Preacher and worships the "Moons", believing that blood falling on their farmland will buy them a good harvest. The whole faction uses exactly one weapon — the Moon Cleaver — and the Moon Guardians are no exception.
What they mean for the player
Cultists attack all outsiders on sight; there is nothing to negotiate. Anyone they knock down is tied to a metal pole, and from time to time they pick one prisoner at random and hack them to death, then dispose of the body in a Corpse Furnace.
One mechanical detail is worth remembering: members of this faction carry no medical supplies at all. After any fight a good number of them slowly become crippled or simply bleed out — Moon Guardians included.
Combat
Combat stats of 25 randomised by ±4, which is below average by wasteland standards. Their gear is fixed at Shoddy grade with only a 5% upgrade chance. Headgear is a Kusari Zukin or Karuta Zukin; the shirt slot holds a Chain Shirt, Chainmail, Rusty Chain Shirt or Rusty Chainmail; legwear is Ninja Pants, Drifter's Leather Pants, Samurai Clothpants or Halfpants (sneaky chain); footwear is Drifter's Boots or Plated Longboots.
The stats are not the problem. The numbers of them and that cleaver are — the Moon Cleaver is a hacker, high in cut damage, and it opens up a poorly armoured squad fast.
