MegaraptorReport
English:Megaraptor · Creatures
There is exactly one of them, sitting inside the half-drowned ancient citadel on Raptor Island. It is the Swamp Raptor scaled up, with health in the thousands and horns worth 1,500 apiece — but it never leaves the ruin, so the timing of the fight is entirely yours.
The Megaraptor is the raptor species scaled up: above the River Raptor and the Swamp Raptor sits this final form, with both stats and scale — health and size — pushed up across the board.
There is only one.
Appearance
The Megaraptor is a bipedal reptile built on exactly the same model as the Swamp Raptor; the difference is size. Its spawn age multiplier is fixed between 0.9x and 1.0x, meaning it does not grow or age the way wild animals do — you always meet the same individual at the same stage.
It also holds one unique distinction: it is the only animal in the game with a female chance of 100.
Where it lives
One place only: the centre of Raptor Island, north of the Fog Islands, inside the drowned ancient citadel ruin.
Raptor Island is a sandy landmass with a small mountain range in the middle and sparse shrubbery, prone to occasional acid rain. It has no towns, no outposts and no homeless spawns — only flocks of Swamp Raptors and up to six raptor nests. The island is nominally controlled by the Raptors animal faction, but the Megaraptor itself belongs to the Swamp Creatures faction, as do the island's ordinary Swamp Raptors.
The citadel it occupies also holds a spread of mid-range weapons and armour, which is a large part of the practical reason to go.
Combat threat
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Strength | 80 |
| Melee Attack / Defence / Dexterity / Toughness / Athletics | 60 |
| Martial Arts | 6 |
| Randomised by | ±2 |
| Health | 1,020–2,472 |
| Per-part health | 450–1,110 |
| Extra attack slots | 1 |
Hit chance is 100 on head, chest, stomach and both forelegs, and only 50 on the two rear legs.
Damage formulae (against a target with 0% resistance):
- Cut = 18 + 0.78–0.90 × (Martial Arts + Dexterity)
- Blunt is negligible
The 18 is 13 minimum cut damage plus 5 points of pierce.
In practice the number that matters is health. A total pool from one thousand to nearly two and a half thousand, with every body part starting at 450, means this is not a fight burst damage can end. What you need is a front line that holds and enough sustained output.
Two pieces of good news:
- It is slow. Base speed 5–11 mph, and its combat movement multiplier is only 0.6 — it gets slower once the fight starts. You can almost always walk away.
- It never leaves the ruin. The timing of this fight belongs to you.
Drops and value
| Drop | Quantity | Unit price |
|---|---|---|
| Animal Skin | 20 | 240 Cats |
| Horn of the Megaraptor | 10 | 1,500 Cats |
Ten horns is 15,000 Cats, plus twenty animal skins. Measured against mid-game income that is an extremely profitable expedition, and the horns are pure trade goods you can sell on the spot.
What it means for the player
- This is not a newbie trap. It stays in the ruin and does not chase, and every other raptor on the island is docile. Passing through Raptor Island early will not wipe your squad.
- It is a clean mid-game milestone. When your squad can chew through fifteen hundred points of health while absorbing cut damage in the teens, it is time to go collect those ten horns.
- Clear the citadel while you are there. The mid-range weapons and armour inside are worth carrying out.
