A maniacal mercenary priced at 6,000 Cats in the bars of the Shek Kingdom, whose opening line is "hire me or clear off"; his combat numbers are near the top of his class.
Kang has no intention of changing himself for anyone, and he will tell you so to your face.
"I don't change for anyone. You either hire me or you turn around and walk away. And if it's the latter, you'll die like a fool..."
A very plain transaction
Kang is a unique recruit within the Shek Kingdom, appearing in the bars of Admag, Squin or Last Stand. The recruitment fee is 6,000 Cats, paid once, with no prerequisites, no allegiance checks and no reputation requirement.
Nor does he have much to talk about. Beyond the recruitment dialogue itself he has no unique lines anywhere in the game — once he is signed on, what you have bought is a fighting body, not a story. The one thing he promises you is that anyone who gives you trouble will have his spine pulled out.
Is he worth the price
He is. Kang's numbers put him near the top of the bracket of recruits you can simply pay for:

These vary randomly by ±3 on spawn. Add the Shek's own racial Toughness bonus and he is a fighter you can drop straight into the front rank from the early-to-mid game without needing to nursemaid him. Dodge, Stealth and Perception are still in negative-to-single-digit territory, but the Shek were never going to rely on getting out of the way.
On equipment, he wears Shoddy grade armour with only a 5% chance of spawning Standard, and his weapon manufacturer is "Ancient" grade, the lowest tier there is. Put differently, you are buying the man, not the kit — the first order of business after taking him on is to get him a decent weapon.
His starting loadout is a Horse Chopper, drifter leather pants, Drifter's Boots, and a Standard First Aid Kit in the backpack.
Personality
Kang's personality is "Maniacal". Characters of this type lean towards belligerence and impatience in dialogue and in everyday reactions, which fits the impression his opening line leaves. For a mercenary defined purely by his price and his numbers, that is probably the whole of his character.
