Jaegar the Mad of the wanted posters, a Jonin of the Anti-Slavers. Katana in the seventies, Stealth and Athletics close to a hundred, and almost no Dodge at all — an assassin who wins purely by striking first.
Jaegar is a member of the Anti-Slavers, and can be found walking the streets of Spring — the hilltop headquarters of the Anti-Slavers, south-west of Stobe's Gamble. His personality is set to Brave, which in game terms means he will not flee.

As with the other Anti-Slavers, the Holy Nation and United Cities both have a price on his head. What makes this poster worth reading is the final charge: having piled up every accusation it can, the Empire appends "utterly mad". That is at once the official verdict on him and the origin of his nickname.

The figures vary by 3 points either way, and are then multiplied again by the Scorchlander racial modifiers.
The table states his role plainly enough: Stealth and Athletics near level 100, Katana in the seventies, set against a Dodge of virtually zero and a melee defence around twenty. He can close quietly, cut the target down and get away, but the moment he is dragged into a stand-up fight or surrounded by several opponents, he goes down very fast indeed. A Strength in the mid-teens also means he takes a considerable weight penalty swinging that naginata katana.
The Jonin Assault
The occasion players most often remember Jaegar for is not Spring at all, but the gates of their own outpost.
If Tinfist is killed or imprisoned, the Anti-Slavers launch a retaliatory Jonin Assault — a twenty-strong elite jonin squad thrown at the player's base, led by Jaegar, Bo or Grey. Twenty ninjas of that calibre arriving at once make for a hard fight against a mid-game outpost.
Conversely, if the player kills or imprisons all three of Jaegar, Bo and Grey while Tinfist still lives, the Anti-Slavers will assault the player's outpost just the same. In other words, these three men are three segments of a single fuse: touch one and nothing happens; touch all three and it goes off.
Equipment
He wears a ninja mask, a ninja gi or ninja rags, and ninja trousers, all of it Specialist quality (with a 5% chance of Masterwork). His weapon is a naginata katana from the Skeleton Smiths — a notably high-quality manufacturer in this game, so the blade itself carries a considerable price. He also has a water flask, a basic first aid kit and a ration pack, all negligible in value.
What is actually worth money is his head and his sword.
