Ghost VillageReport
English:Ghost Village · Locations
A village on the Northern Coast that Cannibals cleared out not long ago. The houses are empty, everything inside is still there, and the bar is open with nobody in it — how the village died is written in two diary pages behind that bar.
Ghost Village is an empty village on the Northern Coast. The implication is that Cannibals raided it recently — the buildings are deserted, yet still full of items. There is one bar and not a single resident.
What happened here
Ghost Village is filed under two factions: Deadcat, and one called Megacity.
Megacity is a dead faction. It spawns no characters, patrols nothing, and players cannot change relations with it. The only location it owns is Ghost Village. The faction is, in effect, a headstone.
Its story is in the Mega City: The Beginning books found in the bar. Two diary entries:
The first was written on moving in. The walls are up, the buildings fortified, the turrets calibrated, and the author is delighted with the spot they picked — water for fishing, hills against the wind, and best of all "no Holy Nation, no Empire, no nothing to tell us what to do". As for the cannibals next door? "A couple o' dumb cannibal tribals, nothing we can't handle." He even plans to take a few as free labour and build the next empire.
The second was written a few weeks later. Villagers have started disappearing, one by one. The author explains away every loss — those two must have eloped, those three must have got lost in the hills scavenging. He closes with survival of the fittest: who needs them, the next empire will be stronger without them.
There is no third entry.
What is here
The containers in the shacks and the bar are full, and you can unlock them and take everything. It is an unguarded supply stop.
Why you would come
For an early squad, Ghost Village is one of the few safe resupply points on the Northern Coast — nothing guards it, and nothing has to be fought.
But its real value is those two books. Most ruins in Kenshi hand you supplies; Ghost Village hands you a complete chain of cause and effect: a group of people picked a spot, congratulated themselves on how clever they were, wrote off the danger as a joke, and then vanished one at a time.
Incidentally, Deadcat is a product of the same story. They once lived in the city of Deadcat; after the Cannibals took it, the survivors became the fishing refugees strung along this coast. Ghost Village is the other end of that thread.
