Crumbling LabsReport
English:Crumbling Labs · Locations
An ancient lab sitting in an acid lake — you have to swim through acid to reach it. Two buildings, one holding King Gorillo and one packed with Security Spiders, and five Ancient Science Books are guaranteed.
Crumbling Labs is one of the Ancient Labs, located in Stobe's Gamble to the north-east of Spring.
What sets it apart is not what is inside but what is around it: the lab sits in an acid lake, and you have to swim through acid for a stretch to get there.
Before you go in
Stobe's Gamble is volcanic badland to begin with: volcanic rock, acid lakes, and landbat flocks that start at eighteen. The lab sits in one of those lakes, which stacks two kinds of damage on top of each other — landbats on the way there, acid once you arrive.
The two buildings
Once ashore there are two structures, with completely different contents:
| Building | What is inside |
|---|---|
| The Nest | The ruined lab building, home to King Gorillo — the giant version of the Black Gorillo, with 100 in Melee Attack, Melee Defence, Strength and Dexterity |
| The other lab | Usually full of Security Spiders |
Loot
The headline first: five Ancient Science Books are guaranteed here through the artifacts system. Those five books are the floor on what this acid swim pays.
The Nest also holds several pieces of equipment. Potential drops for the location as a whole include:
- Ancient Science Book
- Armour Plating
- Copper Alloy Plates
- CPU Unit
- Damaged Book
- Electrical Components
- Generator Core
- Medical Supplies
- Medical Items
- Motor
- Power Core
- Press
- Robotics Components
- Skeleton Muscle
- Steel Bars
Is the trip worth it
Yes, but pick your moment.
Five Ancient Science Books are real research progress, and the CPU Unit, Power Core and Generator Core on the list are hard currency. The problem is the entry cost — acid, landbats, a beast with 100 across the board, and a building full of Security Spiders.
In practice most players take only one of the two buildings: pull King Gorillo out for a duel or skip him entirely, and sneak the crates in the spider building. Taking both usually means the whole squad needs new limbs afterwards.
