The game itself says almost nothing about the man. The main document of his existence is an unsigned letter titled Puppet, in which the writer complains that the new emperor is nothing next to Anzai and concludes that the only reason the nobles would crown a buffoon is that a buffoon is easy to control. The player, in other words, comes to know Anzai not through anything he did, but through someone using him as a measuring stick for his successor.
